Remembering Our parish in Your Will
Planning for the future and creating the legacy you want to leave behind is a great way to make a lasting impact. By including a gift in your will or living trust, also called a bequest, you can help ensure your legacy continues. Your gift could be a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate, or what’s left after other instructions are fulfilled.
Our federal tax ID number (EIN) is: 14-1396436
Here’s some suggested wording for including a bequest in your will.
For an unrestricted gift that allows your parish and the Archdiocese of New York to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs, use the following language for your will and/or trust:
"I give to the Roman Catholic Church of St. Stephen, The First Martyr, located at 75 Sanfordville Rd., Warwick, NY 10990 (EIN 14-1396436), _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose."
To designate your provision for a particular purpose:
"I give to the Roman Catholic Church of St. Stephen, The First Martyr, located at 75 Sanfordville Rd., Warwick, NY 10990 (EIN 14-1396436), _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purposes).
"I give and bequeath to the Roman Catholic Church of St. Stephen, The First Martyr located at 75 Sanfordville Rd., Warwick, NY 10990 (EIN 14-1396436)the sum of _____ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] to be used for Masses to be said for the repose of soul ....."
