Fr. Mike Schmitz, host of the wildly popular Bible in a Year podcast, said of the Catechism: “You can’t love what you don’t know.”
Launched on January 1, the Catechism in a Year podcast is also hosted by Fr. Mike.
What is the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Is it relevant today? What does it have to do with me? And as Fr. Mike points out, how can I love this special gift and tool of the Church if I don’t know much about it?
Starting January 1, journey with Fr. Mike to deepen your knowledge and love of our Catholic faith by digging into what the Church actually teaches and why – in the Catechism!
What is the Catechism in a Year podcast?
Catechism in a Year is a free daily podcast and reading plan that will guide us through the entire Catechism, complete with encouragement, insights, and enthusiasm that Fr. Mike Schmitz is well known for.

Our new Prayer Wall provides a way for our parish family to pray for each other’s intentions. It’s as easy as clicking on the “Prayer Wall” icon on the bottom of the app home page, or on the hompage of the website, and then typing your intention, followed by clicking on the “submit” button. Once your prayer request is approved, it will be added to the Prayer Wall, which gives us all the opportunity to pray for each other’s intentions. Similar to the “like” button on Facebook, there is a praying hand icon next to each intention. Click on that to show that you are offering prayers for that intention!
We hope that this is a way that we can find comfort in knowing we are joining with each other in prayer.
Our app is available for free download through the Apple Library in the App Store or through Google Play on android devices.
To find us search: St Stephen Warwick NY.
We are now able to connect with parishioners and supporters through the power of our own mobile app. Our app contains Catholic prayers, Catholic faith resources, and all of our parish news and information packaged into one little button.
If you are in search of some worthwhile and holy TV, look no further than The Chosen.
The series is free to watch here.
Trex Recycling Film Challenge
Wow! Thanks for all the plastic!
****The response to the plastic has been incredible! We have collected more than 100 pounds of plastic towards our goal of 500 pounds so far.
Our parish is now participating in the Trex Recycling Film Challenge. The objective of this project is to educate the public on the importance of plastic film recycling through community recycling programs. Our parish is collecting plastic film with the goal of recycling a minimum of 500 pounds of plastic in a six-month period. When the goal is met, we will be awarded a Trexbench for our parish grounds.
Please refer to the image above for items that we are able to collect.
Collection bins are located in the church atrium and in the front hallway of the Parish Community Center.
