Please join your parish family in prayer.
We will pray this prayer at each Mass, and also send out a reminder one day each week so we can all pray as a family, no matter where we may physically be at the time.
The family that prays together, stays together. Let's keep each other in prayer.
To our St. Stephen’s Family:
Prayer is the reason we are emailing you today. With the busyness of everyday life, it's easy to skip over or lighten our prayer time. It's harder yet if you don't know where to begin or haven't stopped to pray in a while. Lent is the perfect time to begin anew in prayer - together.
Why prayer?
Prayer - there is no simpler way to build and deepen your relationship with Christ. As St. John Chrysostom so elegantly put it, prayer "is the root, the fountain, the mother of a thousand blessings."
We invite each of you to join us in prayer using our parish prayer for Lent which you'll find in the photo above.
As a parish, we will recite this prayer at the end of the Prayers of the Faithful during all Masses throughout Lent. In this way, we come together as a faith community, offering this prayer for ourselves and for all. The prayer is available on the Lenten Mass Aid located in the pews. We invite you to also pray with your families at home. Cards with the text of the prayer will be available in the Atrium for you to take. The text is also available on the parish website and Facebook page.
This Lent, we will be sending a weekly reminder to stop and join us in prayer wherever you are. It would be our hope that this invitation stirs your heart and moves you to join in with us. These small acts of prayer are powerful beyond our understanding.
We are truly grateful for the wonderful things God is doing here in our parish community. Each one of you is a gift, and we are humbled to be your shepherd here St. Stephen’s
God Bless You,
Fr. Jack
